To get a head start you can visit > Flea Market Business

The solutions to some of the following questions will help you to reap success with your new flea market business.

Can you find all of the flea markets in your vicinity? You can check out all the flea markets in your nearby vicinity by getting yourself a flea market directory.

The next step is to go and check out each one of them. You will begin to get a feel for “what works” and more important “what doesn’t work”.You want to check out what things are being marketed by the flea market dealers. You want to get ideas for what you will sell. Making your decision on what things to sell is certainly going to be a decisive turning point.

How many sellers are there in each market? How many dealers are selling the same items?
Even though competition is good, it needs to be held to a minimum.

You need to walk around and watch the vendors who are actually doing business and ringing up sales. Be sure to check out what is being carried around by shoppers. I know this sounds obvious but you have to sell products that people want or need.

After selling for over 20 years at the flea market I watch this happen to new dealers all the time. People try to sell the latest and greatest products that every other seller is selling, or something that no one has any need for.

Walk all the aisles and observe what is happening in every market. You might want to take notes so you can get it all together later.

Another thing of importance is knowing what days your flea market is open. You need to know how much your space will cost. Can you get a discount if you pay by the week-end or month?

Also when you set up you need to get a good spot. You can have the best goods in the world but if no one gets to your booth then you will go home with only a few dollars.

You will need to check for what license is required in your county and state. Always find out from management what is required. These generally turn out to be inexpensive.

The last thing I will touch on and I won’t go into this to deep but you will need to find a wholesaler. This is an important decision because you need to find items that will make you a really good profit and be able to depend on your wholesaler for your merchandise week after week.
